Obsidian Entertainment announced The Outer Worlds‘ first major DLC expansion during July’s Xbox Games Showcase. Since then, Obsidian’s kept all footage of the Peril on Gorgon DLC wrapped up pretty tightly. But with launch now less than two weeks away and Gamescom going on, Obsidian’s decided to share some more. The studio recently dropped a 10-minute demo of The Outer Worlds: Peril on Gorgon introducing one of the DLC’s quest hubs, Sprat Shack.

The Sprat Shack is, as its name rather heavily implies, a rather dingy bar. As the Sprat Shack’s doorman makes clear, the Sprat Shack is a common stopping spot for salvagers and smugglers — and occasionally something worse. It serves as a quest hub for the Peril on Gorgon players, give that they can offer services that aren’t commonly available in the Sprat Shack.

Within the Sprat Shack, the player encounters Leonora Diallo. Leonora has a task for the player, asking them to find her husband’s flash in the nearby ruins. Her husband, Jerome, is believed to have sacrificed himself to have saved Leonora. Of course, befitting The Outer Worlds‘ setting, there’s more to the story than first meets the eye. Along the way, the player will encounter some of Gorgon’s new Marauder enemies. They’ll also discover some of the DLC’s new audio logs.

It’s a very simple look at The Outer Worlds‘ upcoming DLC. It’s almost surprisingly simple, considering it’s some of the first gameplay shared from Peril on Gorgon. It also focuses on a very basic mechanic where discovering things in the open world leads to more conversation topics. Regardless, it seems consistent with The Outer Worlds base game. And players only have a short time until they can experience the full game for themselves.

The Outer Worlds is available now on PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One. Peril on Gorgon releases September 9.
