It’s coming toward the end of the month, and I’m sure many of you are eagerly looking forward to the PS Plus Free Games for January 2022, especially those of you who found a shiny PS5 under the Christmas tree. What are the latest leaks? When will the announcement come? Let’s break it down.
When will PS Plus January 2022, games be announced and released?
Traditionally PlayStation Plus games have always been announced on the last Wednesday of ever month at 4.30 PM UK time with the games going live the following Tuesday morning. That means the reveal should be on December 29th . That said, Sony occasionally decide to change things up and announce them earlier or later and that happened last month when they skipped the usual date and just picked a random date and time. As it’s Christmas week it’s more than likely that Sony will also miss the usual time and date.
What will the PS Plus January 2022 games be?
The three games that were included in PS Plus December 2021 were leaked by the regular source Billbil-kun on French deals website Dealabs. They have accurately leaked the last few months of PS Plus updates, as well as December’s Xbox Games with Gold. However, they have yet to post anything for January 2022 so we’re going to gaze in to our crystal ball.
Tipsters on the internet – and by tipsters we mean ‘people taking a wild guess’ – have suggested that Uncharted: Lost Legacy might be the PlayStation 5 game. It’s going to be re-released as part of the Uncharted Legacy of Thieves Collection but that doesn’t launch until later in the month, so I’m going to say that is unlikely. In fact nothing is released the week PlayStation Plus goes live so it’s very unlikely we will get a brand new game on PS5.
One suggestion is for Need For Speed Hot Pursuit Remastered, that makes more sense, it’s been out for a while and EA games have appeared on PlayStation Plus. Anotehr suggestion is for Dying Light, which would build hype for the sequel out in February, but that game is rather old now and would not go down well with subscribers.
Can I still download the December 2021 PlayStation Plus Games?
Yes you can. The PlayStation Plus games for November are Mortal Shell and LEGO DC Super-Villains for PlayStation 4, and Godfall Challenger Edition on both PS4 and with a PS5 version, plus three bonus PSVR games which will remain on the service until 3rd January.
