Two Point Hospital Gets Sonic Items July 30

Sonic the Hedgehog may not be getting a big main series instalment for his 30th birthday – but he's sure getting an interesting looking crossover. Starting July 30, Two Point Hospital players will be able to pick up costumes of Sonic and pals, because that's what any trustworthy doctor would wear.

This announcement was originally made as part of the Sonic Central broadcast in May, where Sega unveiled the various ways it's celebrating the blue blur's big day. This tweet from the Two Point Hospital Twitter account confirms the Sonic update will be a little later than expected, but no less bizarre.

As seen in the tweet, the update will allow medical professionals to go into work fully decked out in Sonic fursuits. As you might expect, this crossover has raised some eyebrows, at least judging from the replies.

"Imagine you go into surgery and the dude fumbling with the scalpel in his big cloth gloves is dressed as Knuckles", replied @FanbyteMedia. Many others share this sentiment, wondering if cosplaying during surgery amounts to medical malpractice.

Being Sonic's big anniversary year, we shouldn't find ourselves hurting for content. Most recently, it was leaked that we can expect an anniversary edition of Team Sonic Racing to launch sometime this year. No changes are expected in the game itself, but leaked box art suggests it will come bundled with an artbook.
