Fans of point-and-click adventure games were pleasantly pleased today with the unexpected release of Unavowed, a supernatural detective game that will remind you of classic titles from the genre.
If you enjoy indie titles, fantastic storylines, and point-and-click adventure games, Unavowed is the game for you. Wadjet Eye Games is an indie American firm inspired by point-and-click games from the 1990s such as Monkey Island, Beneath a Steel Sky, and others. The Shivah, The Blackwell Legacy, and Unavowed, games from Wadjet Eye Games, have all received positive feedback from reviewers and fans.
Unavowed was released for the first time on PC in 2018, and it was an unexpected success for the independent creators. Dave Gilbert, the creator of Wadjet Eye, stated in an interview with Adventure Games that Unavowed outsold all of their prior games. Both the Golden Joystick Awards and the Independent Games Festival Awards recognized the game for its superb storytelling.
For those who are unfamiliar with the title, it is a point-and-click adventure game in which you play as a man or woman in New York City who wakes up one day to realize that they have been possessed and have gone on a rampage. They band up with a slew of supernatural detectives to discover what that year-long rampage included.
Wadjet Eye Games surprised all fans of the game with an unexpected release of the title on Nintendo’s console. Unavowed on the Nintendo Switch is available now for $13.49 on the eShop.
