Henrik Törnqvist, co-founder of Iron Gate, said: “As the first major update, we wanted Hearth & Home to truly expand the Valheim experience and make the core gameplay richer and more complex while still adding new content for players to return to and explore. While it’s taken a little longer than anticipated to make sure it’s the quality people have come to expect, we’ve listened to our community every step of the way and with some much-requested features added we’re glad that they can finally get their hands on it.”

Following the launch of Hearth & Home, Iron Gate will release the Mistlands update which will bring even more content. As a result of working on both Hearth & Home and Mistlands smaller content updates will not be done for now. In an AMA on Reddit, the development team answered some questions about other content. It was confirmed that the team is looking into adding more ship options but there is no timeframe for when that will happen. The same goes for more animals in the game as both elements will require extensive testing. Iron Gate is also looking into a system that will allow players to delete items they do not want.

Valheim – top 10 tips and tricks beginner’s guide

We recently went hands on with Valheim, Thomas sharing some thoughts on his time with the early access build of this up-and-comer:

“Valheim, while a bit rough around the edges, has a number of genuinely nice touches to its gameplay. When cooking food, you have to actually stand by it as it cooks and take it off when it’s ready – leave it on for too long and you’ll be left with a piece of coal – but stand by a fire in a cramped space and you’ll start to die due to smoke inhalation. For a game that’s just entered Early Access, Valheim already feels like a mostly complete game.

The future feels bright for Valheim. With a solid arrangement of survival systems already in place, an engaging array of boss battles and plenty of extra touches, I can’t wait to see how the community shapes and guides this survival sim’s future development. This is definitely one to watch out for.”
