Walmart Restocking PS5, Xbox Series X Consoles Twice Today

The PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X consoles have been out for about nine months at this point, yet it's still as difficult as ever for interested consumers to get their hands on either console. However, one of the ways that fans have been able to get a PS5 or Xbox Series X console is through Walmart restocks that happen on a semi-regular basis. Usually whenever a Walmart restock comes around, it's only at one specific time during the day, but Walmart will have two separate restocks today, August 12.

In a statement to GameSpot, Walmart confirmed that it will have two restocks for the PS5 and Xbox Series X consoles later today. The first restock will start at 9am PT, so it could very well be sold out by the time someone reads this post. After all, PS5 and Xbox Series X stock tends to fly off the shelves as soon as it's available, thanks a combination of the multitude of people trying to buy the consoles and bots. Stock will be released every 10 minutes from 9am PT until the company runs out of those particular offerings.

The second Walmart PS5 and Xbox Series X restock is set to take place later tonight at 6pm PT, and like the previous Walmart restock, Walmart will release its stock every 10 minutes while supplies last. This new approach should increase the odds of fans actually being able to get on Walmart when the restock happens and claim a next-generation console for their own, but it will likely still be extremely difficult. Anyone interested should make sure they have a Walmart account ready and signed-in to increase their odds even further.

Here are the links for each console at Walmart. Please note that it may still be showing third-party scalper prices until restock time rolls around.

What's interesting is that it seems as though the Xbox Series S console is once again not a part of Walmart's restock, having been left out of the latest restock as well. The Xbox Series S console, for the uninitiated, is a cheaper alternative to the Xbox Series X. It's not able to achieve the same resolution as the Series X, but it can play all of the next-gen exclusive games and can run some titles at 120 frames per second. It retails for $299, a full $200 cheaper than the Xbox Series X, which should make it an attractive alternative for some fans.

It's unclear why the Xbox Series S has been left out of the Walmart restocks, but in the meantime those who just want a PS5, PS5 Digital Edition, or Xbox Series X can take a crack at the 9am and 6pm PT restocks.
