Warzone Cheaters Are Now Using Silent Aim

Warzone's new Silent Aim hack allows players to shoot and kill their enemies without even looking at them.

Pretty much all popular online games have issues with cheaters their developers are in a constant battle against. None seem to struggle more with the problem than Warzone, though. Raven Software recently banned 15,000 more Warzone cheaters, bringing the total number of bans up to more than half a million since Warzone launched in 2020. However, the cheaters, and new ways in which to cheat, just keep on coming.

The latest of those Warzone cheats might well be the most frustrating of all for its rule-abiding players. The exploit has been cropping up here and there since May and has been not-so-affectionately nicknamed Silent Aim. The cheat allows its users to point a gun in the general direction of an enemy, pull the trigger, and hit them even if their cross-hairs aren't even close to the target.

If you're wondering how exactly this cheat looks in the wild, take a look at the clip below showing Reddit user notbilbo falling foul of it. The clip shows what on first instance appears to be a new or maybe just confused player spinning around while looking at the ground and firing their gun. It quickly becomes clear that the spinning is intentional as their final enemies fall and the mystery spinner is declared victorious.

Aimbots in Warzone and other online games are nothing new. However, Silent Aim is something different. While aimbots offer up a huge unfair advantage to the cheaters who use them, they have their drawbacks. Some of them struggle to deal with recoil, and it's relatively easy to spot when someone is using it. The same can't be said for Silent Aim which might well make it a harder cheat to eradicate entirely.

Activision and Raven continue to battle back against cheaters, but the reality is Warzone might never be rid of them entirely. No matter how many accounts are banned, there always seems to be more cheaters ready to go, often with all-new even more problematic exploits to flaunt. As is the case with most Warzone cheats, but particularly with Silent Aim, it's difficult to see how those using them get any enjoyment from doing so, other than the odd satisfaction of ruining the game for everybody else.
