Watch Dogs Legion Bloodline: How To Start The Bloodline DLC And Carry Over Progress

Bloodlinestart

Watch Dogs Legion's Bloodline DLC has finally arrived, and it brings with it a brand new adventure for the original Watch Dogs protagonist, Aiden Pearce, and Watch Dogs 2's Wrench.

Before anything, you're going to want to know how to get started on the Bloodline DLC, and know how much of the content carries over to the base game.

Watch Dogs Legion: How To Start The Bloodline DLC

To start with, you're going to want to make sure you have the Bloodline DLC installed. If you've bought the Season Pass for Watch Dogs Legion, you'll need to make your way onto the store and download the Bloodline DLC.

Once that's complete, you'll find the Bloodline DLC appears as an option on the main menu. Selecting this will bring you to a new splash screen featuring Aiden, which lets you start the expansion.

The Bloodline DLC is a completely separate story from the main Watch Dogs Legion events and takes place before that game. Therefore, it's treated as a different part of the game and has upgrades, data, and team members. You can't recruit anyone to be a part of DedSec either, this is a Wrench and Aiden adventure only.

Watch Dogs Legion Bloodline: What Progress Carries Over To The Main Game

Bloodline is treated as a separate part to Watch Dogs Legion, with separate characters, missions, side-missions and progression systems. That means that none of what you have in the main game will carry over into the DLC. It's treated as a completely fresh start, which makes sense considering the story takes place before the original game.

However, there are some things that you can unlock in Bloodline that carry on over to the main game. Most importantly, Wrench and Aiden can be unlocked and recruited in the main game. All you have to do is load a save after starting Bloodline and you'll be able to recruit Aiden Pearce and Wrench into the game. There doesn't appear to be any mission unlock requirements attached for either characters, you simply need to own Bloodline.

They'll both appear as recruitment missions on the mission page, and will appear outside the pub that acts as a safehouse in Watch Dogs Legion. All of their unique skills and weapons will be available alongside the characters, including Aiden's ability to instantly execute enemies with his Custom .357 revolver.

Besides that, the only other progression element that transfers over to the main game from the DLC is some unlockable costumes that you'll earn from completing the main missions. Everything else, including upgrades and tech, is limited to use in this DLC. That means no multi-drone for the main game, sadly.
