Watch Dogs: Legion Sold 1.9 Million Digital Units in October

Watch Dogs Legion

SuperData Research released its report on digital sales and revenue for October 2020, offering a look at some of the best performing titles worldwide. Key among these is Ubisoft’s Watch Dogs: Legion which sold 1.9 million digital units despite being on sale for just three days in the month. It broke franchise records as a result, usurping Watch Dogs 2’s digital sales.

The latter, which released on November 15th 2016, only sold 431,000 units digitally. SuperData notes that Watch Dogs: Legion “likely benefited from several free giveaways of Watch Dogs 2 earlier in 2020, which built up the franchise’s audience.” Coupled with US physical sales making it the third best-selling title in The NPD Group’s October 2020 report, the sequel has undoubtedly become a success for Ubisoft.

Of course, the launch hasn’t been without issues – despite deploying a fix for PC users suffering lost progress, Xbox Series X players have been facing the same problem. A fix is planned for early December so expect more details in the coming weeks. Watch Dogs Online, which offers four player co-op with unique missions and activities, is also set to arrive next month as well.
