In the medieval survival-roguelite Tribes of Midgard, your main goal is to protect Yggdrasil, the World Tree, located in the centre of your village. Each night, hordes of creatures attack your town from every direction.

As these creatures grow more powerful, you might struggle to fend them off. If they reach the World Tree, they will drain the Souls that you have offered. However, there is a way to transform your quaint Viking village into a mighty base. To do this, you’ll want to build gates to protect entrances, and for that, you will need Cut Stone.
This guide covers everything that you need to know to get Cut Stone in Tribes of Midgard, so that you can create your own fortress.
How To Get Souls In Tribes Of Midgard
Souls are the main form of currency in Tribes of Midgard. You earn them from almost every activity, including harvesting resources and killing enemies.
You can use Souls to upgrade merchants, but they can also be donated to the seed of Yggdrasil to make it grow. You will also need to spend souls when fortifying your base with gates and other defences.
How To Upgrade Merchants In Tribes Of Midgard
To upgrade a merchant, you need to give them souls. In order to get Cut Stone, you need to upgrade Eyrun the Tinkerer, an NPC located in your village. She is found on the West side of the village, above the teleportation shrine.
When you find her, rather than going into the crafting menu, press upgrade.
This will take you to the upgrade screen. In order to raise a merchant’s level, you must deposit the required amount of souls. Before you can create Cut Stone, you need to upgrade Eyrun the Tinkerer’s crafting station to level three.
How To Get Cut Stone In Tribes Of Midgard
To get Cut Stone, you need to take normal pieces of Stone and Flint to Eyrun. Stone and Flint are both found scattered around the world of Midgard.
Flint can be picked up without any tools, whilst Stone must be mined with a pickaxe. To make one piece of Cut Stone, you need to get eight pieces of stone and four pieces of flint.
When you have enough resources, go to Eyrun and select the ingredients tab in her crafting menu. You will find Cut Stone near the top of the list of materials that you can craft.
Where To Use Cut Stone In Tribes Of Midgard
Cut Stone can be used to craft and upgrade various defences around your village. For example, at each entrance, you can make a gate to hold back the hordes.
You can also make archer towers, which will fire arrows down at your enemies to defend the base when you are not around.
You can also use Cut Stone to repair worksites that you find around Midgard. Worksites, such as Lumberyards and Farms, will generate ingredients and resources for you passively when repaired.
