Xbox Announces Date And Time For Gamescom

Xbox has announced when its Gamescom stream will be taking place, as well as news on Bethesda's part in the weekend and a special Gamescom sale.

Fear not everyone. The lull that is the gap between E3 and Gamescom is almost over. After a very busy period in gaming at the start of the summer, things have died down a little in recent weeks. The calm before the storm, if you will, as we all eagerly await Gamescom which takes place later this month.

If E3 was anything to go by, then whatever Xbox has lined up for Gamescom will be one of the highlights of the entire event. Xbox has now confirmed when exactly its stream will be taking place via a new blog post. At 1 pm ET on Tuesday, August 24, 2021, the night before Gamescom's bumper Opening Night Live Event.

Since Xbox's event will be taking place before Gamescom's opening night, the post describes what it has planned as a warm-up. Odds are it's going to feel a lot bigger than that, although there's no mention of exactly what Xbox will be showcasing during its stream. It does make sure to highlight the opening night event the following day, which suggests it will have a presence there also.

Xbox and Bethesda hosted a joint stream at E3. While that will not be the case this time around, the post reveals Bethesda Germany will be hosting streams across several days starting on August 26. We wouldn't rule out a big upcoming Bethesda project like Starfield showing its face during Xbox's stream too, though. You will be able to watch Xbox's Gamescom stream live across all of its platforms which include Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, and Twitch.

On top of all that, Xbox has also announced a special Gamescom sale during which some titles will be as much as 75% off through its digital store. While Sony is taking the same stance as it usually does at E3 and won't have a presence at Gamescom, plenty of other studios aside from Xbox will be. EA and Bandai Namco are just two of the other developers confirmed to be a part of Gamescom this year.
