Zelda Fan Shows Off Impressive Stained Glass Window Based on Minish Cap

The Legend of Zelda franchise has been around for a long time. With so many games in the series, it’s understandable that some grow more popular than others. Games such as Ocarina of Time introduced gamers to a 3D Hyrule while Breath of the Wild took the concept even further with the inclusion of a vast open-world on the Switch. Even though these installments are what come to mind when many gamers think of the series, there are other hidden gems in the bunch, such as The Minish Cap. Recently, one Zelda fan wanted to pay homage to the game by creating a piece of custom artwork.

While some fans might have forgotten about The Minish Cap, an artist known as fractallane on Reddit still remembers the portable adventure. Using their incredible artistic skill, the creator made a stunning version of the stained glass window from the opening of The Minish Cap. In a video posted by fractallane, a person holding the windowpane slowly turns the image revealing the many vibrant hues contained in the glass. One of the main highlights of the artwork is the shield that seems to have a metallic sheen when turned in the light.

The artist provided some details on the creation of the stained glass window. After a fan on Reddit asked what process went into making the artwork, fractallane responded by saying that the material used in the design was called lenticular raster. In order to complete the stained glass artwork, they combined the image from The Minish Cap with a bitmap sheet.

One of a number of sequels released for the Game Boy Advance in the 2000s, it’s nice to see that this smaller adventure in the Zelda timeline continues to receive attention from fans. The game is literally a tiny adventure, as one of the main gameplay mechanics involves Link’s cap which has the ability to make him shrink in size. In the story, the player controls Link from a top-down perspective as they collect the Four Elements in order to defeat the evil Vaati.

The Legend of Zelda community on Reddit has been enjoying this unique piece of art from fractallane. With over 5,400 upvotes, the consensus from the community is that the piece from The Minish Cap is strikingly beautiful. Many fans ended up reminiscing about their nostalgic experiences playing Link’s pocket-sized adventure.

It’s exciting to see original artwork from some lesser known The Legend of Zelda games such as The Minish Cap. It will be interesting to see what this talented artist decides to design next.

The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap is available for the Game Boy Advance.
