Nintendo Museum to Open in Kyoto in 2024

Nintendo has announced that it will open a new museum in Kyoto in March 2024 showcasing the company’s product development history. It will be housed in the Nintendo Uji Ogura Plant, a building which has long been part of Nintendo’s operations.

Built in 1969, the Nintendo Uji Ogura Plant became known as the Uji Plant before being renamed the Uji Ogura Plant in 1988. The Uji Ogura Plant has been used to produce playing cards and hanafuda cards and also operated as a customer service center for product repairs until those operations were moved to a different facility in November 2016.

Since then, there have been discussions as to how the Uji Ogura Plant should be repurposed. Nintendo has now decided to use the facility to house the Nintendo Gallery, which will showcase historical Nintendo products and also offer guests exhibits and experiences to engage with.

No other details are known at this time, but this news is sure to elate fans who’ve long desired some sort of Nintendo museum paying homage to the company’s history. What do you hope Nintendo showcases in its new museum? Let us know below.
