Respawn has announced the release of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order on next-generation consoles. This new version includes a boost in performance, 4K HDR, and improved textures on PS5 and Xbox Series X.
We’d been able to experiment with some intriguing advances up to this point, but there was still a need for a more intense stimulus to kickstart the systems. The two platforms that will benefit are the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Owners of both digital and physical versions of the PS4 and Xbox One will be able to acquire this version for free.
EA made the announcement via their official EA Star Wars Twitter account and a press release on their website, where they explain in detail what this new update brings.
If you play on any of the new consoles, you will now be able to enjoy the following features in this new version for the next-generation consoles:
- Textures with higher resolution.
- 4K resolution and HDR.
- Improved performance up to 60FPS.
- Significantly faster loading times.
Peformance Mode
On the other hand, as is customary in these situations, there are a variety of options to pick from. In Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, you may choose between Performance Mode, which achieves 1440p at 60 fps. You can also disable Performance Mode, which enables 4K resolution and 30 fps. Both options are available only on the PS5 and Xbox Series X; the Series S version remains at 1080p and 60 fps.
Gamers who possess a physical copy of the game will be able to choose the enhanced version when putting the disc into their next-generation consoles. If you own a system without a disc drive but have the game in physical form, the only option to get the latest version of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is to contact EA via this page. Whether you have the official game, EA will check to see if you have the upgrade to this updated version.
