The latest charts for weekly physical sales of games in the UK are in (via GamesIndustry), and appropriately enough, Animal Crossing: New Horizons has topped the charts for the final week of 2020, climbing up from second place last week. The game sees a 7% week on week increase in sales, and it has ended 2020 as the second highest selling game at UK retail of the year.
FIFA 21, which is second in this week’s charts, is the highest selling game of the year, to no one’s surprise. That said, its highest selling version (which is PS4) falls behind the sales of Animal Crossing by some margin. Meanwhile, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is in at No. 3, while Assassin’s Creed Valhalla has gone up from No. 7 last week to No. 4.
Grand Theft Auto 5 is still kicking it in the top 10, while curiously enough, New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe has also made it into the charts. Other titles like Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, Minecraft, and Super Mario 3D All-Stars also figure in the charts.
