We're rather excited about Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge, which is being developed by Tribute Games and published by Dotemu. Its deliberate throwbacks to the iconic beat 'em up games of the '90s and the original cartoons will certainly appeal to gamers of a certain age, and has a good shot of getting younger players excited as well.
As expected a new trailer was shared during the Gamescom Opening Night Live, and it revealed April O'Neil as a playable character. She looks pretty useful, and in a fun touch in co-op she can revive any downed turtles with pizza – of course! You can check out the reveal at the top of the page.
Sporting her iconic yellow jumpsuit and trusty reporting gear, April unleashes flurries of hits against the Foot Clan’s devious soldiers via new gameplay. Her agility and far-reaching slide kicks help her close in on targets quickly, and she once again proves the turtles can rely on her unwavering support, even through slices of pizza.
There was a little bit of disappointing news, though, as the game's release window is now 2022, having originally been expected this year. There's no precise window, so we'll keep our eyes peeled.
In any case, let us know what you think of the latest trailer!
