The oft-delayed Biomutant finally has a release date. It’s out on May 25th and will be coming to Xbox One, PS4 and PC according to the official Twitter account. The Nintendo Switch isn’t mentioned so whether it’s coming to the platform later (or at all) is unknown.
Announced in 2017, Biomutant is a “post-apocalyptic Kung-Fu fable RPG” set in an open world. When the Tree-of-Life starts deteriorating, the player must venture forth to unite the various Tribes. Of course, whether you save the world or ultimately doom it is up to you. The gameplay is a mix of third person shooting and melee combat with mutations thrown into the mix as well.
Mutations can also be used to alter one’s looks and play-style, providing powers like levitation and telekinesis. Other features include a crafting system for various one-handed and two-handed weapons, rifles, shotguns and even chainsaw modules and bionic wings. Though it’s currently slated for current-gen consoles, Biomutant will also be playable on Xbox Series X/S and PS5. Stay tuned for more details in the coming days.
