Colors Live is Out Now on Switch

Some of you might recall the original Colors 3D, which was released for Nintendo 3DS in 2012. A successor to the homebrew Colors! app for Nintendo DS, Colors! 3D was a nifty drawing program that took full advantage of the handheld’s touch screen and stylus. Users could create and share art, and it was loved by its users for being a versatile platform for creation.

Now, Colors Live is available on Nintendo Switch. Although Switch doesn’t have a stylus like 3DS did, the developers at Collecting Smiles produced via Kickstarter a pressure-sensitive SonarPen for users to jack in and draw on the unit’s large touch screen. See it in action in this trailer:

With a ton of options for artists to share their work, Colors Live could prove to be a fun alternative to other mobile drawing apps. Colors! 3D was certainly a robust option for artists irrespective of its status as a 3DS release—you could do some serious art with that program. And it seems to be much the same for Colors Live on Switch. Distributed by Nighthawk Interactive, Colors Live is available now at retail.
