Of the many disappointments that fans have had with Cyberpunk 2077 is the limited romance options. On top of this, each potential partner – such as Judy, as the Braindance technician – can’t be romanced by every gender. So when playing as male V, it isn’t possible to enter a relationship with her.

However, modders recently discovered that a small code change via the console command makes it possible. Certain mods are needed to achieve this and it’s not perfect but the presence of voice lines for a male V and Judy romance raised questions about potential cut content. A CD Projekt representative addressed this, telling Eurogamer that this was recorded so that the studio could “avoid missing something by mistake that would require future recordings”.

“It was simply more convenient and easier for our localization team from a production point of view to record all lines with both voices, so we could avoid missing something by mistake that would require future recordings. This was done with pretty much everything just to be on the safe side although it can vary between the different languages.” It’s further stated that Judy was always intended to be a romance partner only for female V players and that there “was no male romance option cut from the game.”

Cyberpunk 2077 is currently available for Xbox One, PS4, PC and Google Stadia, though it’s been delisted from the PlayStation Store following issues with the PS4 version. Despite this, it’s sold over 13 million copies even with refunds factored in. CD Projekt RED has two major updates coming up over the next few months to improve console performance so stay tuned for more details.
