Hitman 3 is going to release for a whopping eight different platforms when it launches a little less than two months from now, but IO Interactive want to ensure that those playing on PC have the best possible experience. In a blog update, the developer detailed some PC-specific optimizations.
In addition to enhancements for for PC players with 8+ core CPUs as well as Variable Rate Shading (or VRS), Hitman 3 will also be getting ray-tracing support. The latter, however, won’t be available at launch, and will be added to the game in a post-release update “later in 2021.”
IO Interactive will also be revealing a new location for Hitman 3 later today, in about four hours from now. So far, the locations that have been revealed are Dubai and Dartmoor in England. The teaser so far seems to suggest a Chinese location.
Hitman 3 will release on January 20, 2021 for the PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Stadia, and for Nintendo Switch through a cloud release. It will feature full VR support for PS5 and PS4. If you plan on playing the game on PC, you can check out its system requirements through here.
