Hogwarts Legacy System Requirements Might Be Too Much For Switch

Hogwarts Legacy devs just released the system requirements that players will need to be able to play the game. However, they have Nintendo Switch users wondering how the game is going to run on their devices.

It has come to light that players will need some decent hardware to get Hogwarts Legacy running. Developer Avalanche revealed that fans will need at least 85GB of free hard drive space, 8GB of RAM, and an NVIDIA GTX 1070 graphics card. These are the minimum requirements to have the game run at 60fps at 1080p on low quality settings.

The recommended settings can have the game run at higher quality. It will ask for 16GB of RAM and NVIDIA 1080 Ti. According to Hogwarts Legacy devs, it is much better to run the game with an SSD instead of an HDD.

Based on what the gaming public has seen from Hogwarts Legacy video clips, these requirements do not seem too punishing. However, many fans are concerned that their rigs might not be able to keep up. They did not expect the game to be as “demanding” as it is, especially with its GTX 1070 requirement.

Multiple Switch users have also pointed out that the specs indicate that Hogwarts Legacy will be a Cloud game for them. Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, Control, and Hitman 3 all had high specs and were only available to the Switch through the Cloud.

Some sources have claimed that it will have a physical box release for the Switch. However, this does not automatically mean that there will be a cartridge. After all, the PC version of Hogwarts Legacy Collector’s Edition comes with a steel book but has no game code.

Also, Hogwarts Legacy have yet to confirm details regarding the Switch port. The game is due to launch on February 23rd for all other platforms. However, there is no date for the Switch just yet.
