A Far Cry From Good News
The Assassin's Creed Valhalla, Watch Dogs: Legion, and Far Cry 6 Xbox Collector's Edition will have a digital game code instead of a physical disc according to Ubisoft.
The last few months have been jam-packed with great game reveals for upcoming Ubisoft Titles. Assassin's Creed Valhalla, Far Cry 6, and Watch Dogs: Legion are shaping up to continue these great franchises, and each of these games is looking to bring something new to their respective franchises.
As one might expect, these blockbuster releases each have a Collector's Edition available for purchase. Unfortunately, it looks like Ubisoft has made the decision to ax the physical discs for all three of these games. Stranger still is the reveal that this will only affect the Xbox versions of these games.
"Pre-orders for Collector's Editions of ASSASSIN’S CREED VALHALLA, FAR CRY 6 and WATCH DOGS: LEGION for Xbox will receive a digital key to REDEEM, instead of a physical disc," read a news post on Ubisoft's support website. "Collector's Editions for PlayStation will receive physical game discs. The remaining content of your Collector’s Edition will still arrive THROUGH THE POST as normal."
It should be noted that this announcement makes no distinction between current-gen and next-gen consoles. Read plainly, this means that the Xbox One and Xbox Series X Collector's Editions won't have physical discs but the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 Collector's Editions will have discs.

Why Did the Assassin's Creed Valhalla, Watch Dogs: Legion, and Far Cry 6 Xbox Collector's Edition Remove Physical Discs?
The lack of a physical disc in the Assassin's Creed Valhalla, Watch Dogs: Legion, and Far Cry 6 Xbox Collector's Edition releases is certainly disappointing, but one has to wonder how and why this happened.
Unfortunately, Ubisoft did not provide an explanation alongside the announcement. We've reached out to Ubisoft on this matter and will update this article when we received a reply. In the meantime, you can reach out to Ubisoft and open a support case if you have any other questions or concerns about the changes to these Collector's Editions.
