Zimatenga ziwiri

Hazelight Studios are gearing up to launch the narrative-driven co-op title Zimatengera ziwiri, and given how good A Way Out was, it’s no surprise that there’s plenty of hype surrounding the game. When Zimatenga ziwiri launches later next month, while it’ll be available on multiple major platforms, the one platform it’s not going to be available on is the Nintendo Switch.

Recently, we had the chance to talk to Hazelight Studios boss and Zimatenga ziwiri director Josef Fares about a number of things, and ended up asking him (as we often do) if a Nintendo Switch version is something that the developer is considering. Fares told us that it’s not part of the plan- in fact, he’s unsure if it would even be possible to get the game working on the Switch, given the fact that even on the last-gen hardware of PS4 and Xbox One, Hazelight’s co-op focused games are challenging to pull off.

“No, we don’t have [any plans],’ Fares told GamingBolt. “Not sure we can do it actually. I’m not sure, because people forget sometimes, we do split screen games with a lot of s**t in it. Like, there’s a lot of s**t going on. Trust me, it takes a lot of effort to make this work on the old-gen consoles, because there’s so much going on.”

Zimatenga ziwiri is due out on March 26 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Our full interview with Fares will be live soon, so stay tuned for that as well.
