Moon Studios’ Ori and the Will of the Wisps has been one of the stand-out titles of the year, delivering an excellent Metroidvania experience. In June, it was reported to have had two million players but recently, the developer confirmed that it’s hit 2.8 million players (and counting). Thus far, 22.6 million hours in playtime have been accrued.
Other interesting statistics include 516,000 players beating the game, though only 56,000 did it on Hard Mode. Some 10,000 players managed to finish it in less than four hours while 7,900 got through without dying a single time. A respectable 140,000 players beat the developer’s ghost in each Spirit Trial, which is also remarkable.
Ori and the Will of the Wisps is currently available for Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch. It recently received an optimization patch for Xbox Series X/S, allowing it to run at 4K/120 FPS or 6K/60 FPS (with supersampling) on the former. Check out our review here to see why it’s such an incredible game and worth playing (especially when it’s available on Xbox Game Pass).
