Phil Spencer Hints That 1 vs 100 Could See Return For Xbox Series X/S

It’s hard to believe that in just a couple of weeks we’ll be seeing next generation consoles from both Sony and Microsoft. On the Microsoft side of things, they’ve now been around long enough to revive some old ideas, such as the return of Fable that was announced earlier in the year. It seems another, somewhat experimental property could also have a chance at coming back.

Back in 2009, Microsoft launched an interesting little game called 1 vs 100. It was long before the battle royale craze and was a trivia game which saw 101 Xbox Live users participating. It ran for two seasons before being shelved in 2010. Those who played it generally loved it, however. During a FanFest live stream, Phil Spencer was supposed to participate in a virtual quiz, but it was unable to happen due to technical difficulties. There he dropped an obvious hint (thanks to VGC for transcribing this).

“But for all the fans who have been on this with us, we’re going to make it good with you guys. We don’t know exactly what it is yet, so thanks for hanging with us during this and our little experiment.

“We’ll learn. Maybe we should even be building our own trivia game, like from our past, that allows people to play a trivia game more often, maybe that could happen…”

Spencer has talked in the past about bringing back the concept and with Microsoft reviving older IPs, it wouldn’t be too surprising to see 1 vs 100 make a come back for the upcoming Xbox Series X and Series S.
