Capcom revealed its fiscal year report for the quarter ending December 31st 2020, noting that net sales were up 22.6 percent year-on-year. Operating profit is up by 32.2 percent year-on-year, resulting in the highest profit quarter in the company’s history. As noted by Daniel “ZhugeEX” Ahmad on Twitter, sales for Resident Evil 3 Remake are at 3.6 million sell-in.
Which sounds good but Resident Evil 2 Remake hit 4.7 million in the same timeframe. Monster Hunter World: Iceborne continues to perform well, selling 7.2 million units thus far. Total sales for the base game and expansion have also crossed 24 million. Monster Hunter Rise, which is out this March for Switch, is currently seeing high demand.
There’s also Street Fighter: Duel, a JRPG-style mobile title that hit iOS devices in China last November. Published by Tencent, its initial performance has been good. Capcom has a lot more to look forward to in the coming months especially with Resident Evil Village launching in May. Stay tuned for more details in the meantime.
