Final Fantasy 7 Remake

There’s been plenty of speculation about Final Fantasy 7 Remake’s follow-ups in recent weeks, thanks to numerous trademark filings by Square Enix. Trademark applications for “Ever Crisis” and “The Final Soldier” – both of which are decidedly Final Fantasy 7-ish names – have been filed in Japan, followed shortly afterward by Europe and Canada.

Now, that’s been extended to the United States as well. As spotted by Gematsu on Twitter, Square Enix has applied for a trademark for Ever Crisis in the US. Interestingly enough, they’ve also filed for a second trademark for The Isle Dragon Roars.

The more hopeful fans out there will be hoping that these trademark filings have something to do with upcoming expansions, or perhaps even sequels to Final Fantasy 7 Remake. Recently, it was reported that Square Enix would be making an announcement at the Orchestra World Tour this weekend, though it’s possible that that may have been based on mistranslations.

Either way, we’ll keep you updated, so stay tuned.
