It’s been quite the long wait for Stardew Valley’s next big update. Creator Eric “ConcernedApe” Barone announced it way back in February and promised “lots of new content.” In a recent tweet, he confirmed that the update is in the “home stretch.”

Over on Twitter, Barone stated that this is “A very big update so there is a lot of polishing and bug fixing necessary to make sure it’s ready. It’ll be very fun to share it with all of you in the near future. I think you’ll be really happy and surprised with all the new stuff!” While this doesn’t narrow down the release window, it’s another step closer at the very least.

Barone has provided hints and teases of what to expect in the free update, such as the inclusion of a “significant piece” of new content for end-game. It will also support split-screen local co-op for up to four players on PC (though other platforms may be limited to two players). New machines, farms on sand and other such features have also been spotted.

Stardew Valley is currently available for PS4, Nintendo Switch, PC, Xbox One, Android and iOS among other platforms. It was last reported to have sold over 10 million copies in its lifetime and Barone is working on two new titles set in the same universe. But in the meantime, stay tuned for more details on update 1.5’s release date.
