LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga Likely Delayed to 2021Daniel ParkGame Rant – Feed

Although the Star Wars saga is an iconic story in its own right, Traveller’s Tales’ comedic takes on the first six Star Wars movies have gained their own devoted following. Unfortunately, both the developer and LEGO have largely stayed silent on when fans could expect the latest compilation of Star Wars adaptations, LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. However, fans finally received a first indication of when they could expect to see the game today, before LEGO promptly removed this hint from its own website.

Twitter user Wario64 noticed a teaser for LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga that claimed the game was coming in 2021. Earlier this year, the official Star Wars YouTube channel reported that the nine-story Skywalker Saga would be coming out this October. However, the LEGO website directly contradicted that today, when it claimed that the latest LEGO adaptation would be coming in 2021. Although LEGO quickly deleted this reference to the game’s true release date, several Star Wars fans quickly caught on.

Wario64’s tweet was able to capture a screenshot of the LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga web page earlier today, which claimed that the Travellers Tales’ game would be releasing in 2021. After taking down the page for a moment, LEGO brought up a new message that says “The Skywalker Saga – Coming Soon.” However, it is important to note that LEGO has not commented on the reason for the change or on the release date.

In response, several Twitter users largely believed that the 2021 release date was real. After all, Travellers’ Tales could have faced serious difficulties due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Some fans criticized LEGO Star Wars‘ marketing for repeatedly releasing new information prematurely. Outside of an early announcement of the October 2020 release date on YouTube, one YouTuber reportedly leaked The Skywalker Saga‘s title screen earlier this month.

But others expressed hope that a delay to 2021 would allow the developers to refine the game further. Citing the backlash surrounding The Rise of Skywalker, several fans said they were optimistic that the extra development time would allow Travellers’ Tales to properly adapt the controversial sequel trilogy with its traditional comedic flair.

Ultimately, fans won’t have to wait long for more news about the next LEGO Star Wars game. A few hours ago, industry insider Geoff Keighley teased a worldwide gameplay reveal for The Skywalker Saga tomorrow at Gamescom. Although LEGO may have revealed one announcement a little too early, fans still seem to be incredibly excited for Travellers Tales’ and WB Games’ ultimate compilation of all nine Star Wars stories.

LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is rumored to be releasing in 2021, for PC, PlayStation 4, Switch, and Xbox One.
