Target Locked
Rocksteady Studios, creators of the much-feted Batman: Arkham series, is working on a new property. It'll be a game based on the Suicide Squad, a DC supervillain-come-antihero team. We don't have too many details about the project just yet.
What do we know about Suicide Squad?
Not much. Rumors of the game's existence have been flying around since mid-June (thanks, VG247) thanks to a series of leaked Warner Bros website domains which included "SuicideSquadGame.com" and "SuicideSquadKillTheJusticeLeague.com". Now, Rocksteady has confirmed the game's existence with a single, simple promo image posted via its official Twitter account.
The image, which appears to depict either Superman or his mirror image Bizarro, is accompanied simply by the words "target locked". Over Superman-slash-Bizarro's head is a crosshair with the words Suicide Squad in the center. Whether this means the Suicide Squad will be dispatched to take down Superman – or Bizarro – or whether they'll be recruiting him is just one of the many things we unfortunately don't yet know about the game.
Rocksteady says that we can expect more details about Suicide Squad – if indeed that is its name – at the upcoming virtual DC Fan Dome event on August 22nd. This will be a free virtual event, and DC says you won't require any sort of badge or entry ticket in order to attend. Rocksteady merely accompanied its post with the hashtag #suicidesquadgame, so we'll likely see a full reveal of the game – as well as its final title – at the event.
The jury's out on whether the DC Fan Dome will offer first-look gameplay. As ever, we'll bring you more on this as we get it. The event will be viewable via DCFanDome.com for 24 hours starting on August 22nd. Make sure to tune in if you're interested in learning about this new DC venture from Rocksteady.

Dark Souls changed my life, and I'm here to spread the good news. I like pretty much all sorts of games, but I judge everything by its proximity to our Lord and saviour, Dark Souls.
