Top-Down Battle Royale Watchers Shuts Down August 31

Blindfold have announced top-down Battle Royale shooter, Watchers, has reached the end of its lifespan and will be shut down soon.

Watchers is a free-to-play Battle Royale shooter that released in October 2019. The game’s title refers to its primary mechanic; when players die they can continue to participate in the match as “watchers.” This allows them to place bets, and manipulate the match by spawning pickups to tip the balance towards their favored competitor.

As the developers have stated in their end of service announcement, they haven’t been part of the Alawar team since Fall 2019, and have reached the point where they can’t continue to support the game. The Battle Pass and all DLC will be removed from the Steam store page on June 30th. The game will stay live until August 31st, at which point the servers will be shut down permanently.
