Publisher 505 Games and developer Remedy Entertainment has announced that Control will be coming to Steam as an Ultimate Edition that will be releasing later this month on August 27.

Control will include the original game and all expansions (including the AWE expansion that is forthcoming) for $39.99, which doesn't seem too bad of a deal. Its Ultimate Edition will be launching on the PlayStation 4, 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Epic Games Store, and Steam. The release dates are on August 27 for Steam, September 10 for Epic Games Store, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One (digital), end of 2020 for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X's digital release, and early 2021 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X's digital release.

If players purchase the Ultimate Edition on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, they will have a "free upgrade path" to the Xbox Series X and the PlayStation 5. This feature will only be available for Control Ultimate Edition, so if you already own the game up to this point you won't get a free upgrade to the next-gen.

For those who want a first-look at the Ultimate Edition of Control, there will be a Twitch stream tomorrow at 9:00 AM PST where Remedy Entertainment's Creative Director Sam Lake and Control Game Director Mikael Kasurinen will show off the first 15 minutes of AWE while also exploring "the award-winning studio’s approach to storytelling [and] touching upon the “Remedy Connected Universe”.
