August 2021 is poised to be one of the biggest months in the history of Xbox Game Pass, for a variety of reasons. Earlier this month, Microsoft added the award-winning roguelike Hades to the Xbox Game Pass lineup, and later this month fans can look forward to the highly-anticipated Psychonauts 2. But those are just two of the high profile games gracing Xbox Game Pass this month, with today adding three more titles to the pile.
Microsoft has added three more games to Xbox Game Pass as of August 19, including two games that are day one Xbox Game Pass games. The lineup is headlined by 12 Minutes, a time-loop puzzle game with an all-star Hollywood cast including Daisy Ridley, James McAvoy, and Willem Dafoe. 12 Minutes reviews have been mostly positive so far, with a lot of praise aimed at the narrative specifically.

Recompile and Train Sim World 2 join 12 Minutes as the other three new Xbox Game Pass games being added on August 19. Recompile is a next-gen exclusive Metroidvania game, whereas Train Sim World 2 is just as its name implies: a simulator about trains. 12 Minutes and Recompile are brand new releases making their Xbox Game Pass debuts, whereas Train Sim World 2 is only a year old at this point, so they are all solid additions to the lineup.
It's worth pointing out that all three of these games are available across all of the Xbox Game Pass services. This means that Xbox Game Pass subscribers can check them out on consoles, PC, or using the Cloud. This way Xbox Game Pass users can play these games pretty much anyway they want, though not all of these titles necessarily utilize the Xbox Game Pass touch controls feature, and so those going that route will want to have a controller handy.
With the addition of these three games, August 19 is clearly a big day for Xbox Game Pass. But there's still a couple more dates for subscribers to look forward to this month. The Psychonauts 2 release date is right around the corner, with the quirky 3D platformer launching August 25 as a day one Xbox Game Pass game. And then on August 26, the classic puzzle game Myst will be released on Xbox for the first time ever, and it's doing so through Xbox Game Pass.
Xbox Game Pass is set to have a big fall 2021 as well, so it seems subscribers to Microsoft's gaming service have plenty to look forward to in the months ahead as well.
