Demon Turf Video Review – Innovative But Flawed

Demon Turf Video Review

2021 has been the year of 3D platformers. With Ratchet & Clank, Psychonauts 2 and a ton of other titles waving the flag, the genre has jumped its way to the forefront of the industry. Demon Turf looks to continue the revolution with its unique take on conventions but will its innovations stick the landing?

Morphing 2D pixel art with 3D environments, Demon Turf instantly stands out compared to its peers. This unique blend of art styles perfectly captures the rebellious nature of the game and its protagonist. Stripping away staples of the genre, the game allows you to place your own checkpoints in order to progress through the level in whatever way you want. With Beebz’s ability to wall jump, summon powers and transform into an array of objects, she can ease through stages to reach the coveted battery required to progress through the game. Is this the next essential 3D platformer? Check out our review to find out!

Demon Turf is out now on PlayStation, Xbox and PC, and you can read our full review here. Are you ready to jump straight into hell? Does this do enough to change the familiar format?
