We’re (presumably) less than three months away from the launch of both Xbox Series X and PS5, and yet, incredibly enough, neither Microsoft nor Sony seem willing to talk about the prices and exact release dates of their consoles. While we’re going to have to keep waiting on word about the prices, a new report may have given a clearer idea of when both consoles will be out.

In a newly published report, VGC states that as per its development and retail sources, both consoles will be releasing in the space of a couple of weeks. The Xbox Series X is allegedly scheduled to launch in the first week of November, while the PS5 is supposedly due out in mid-November.

To be more precise, Sony has reportedly “booked significant marketing spend” for the seven day-period after November 13, and VGC reports that sources within Microsoft also expect the PS5 to launch in that week-long period.

As far as official word is concerned, Microsoft have confirmed that the Xbox Series X will be out this November, while subsequent leaks have suggested a more specific release date of November 6, which would fall in line with this report.

Meanwhile, Sony’s official wording for the PS5’s launch window is still Holiday 2020, but pre-order registration pages are now up, and a recent report indicated that the console would be out before November 17.
