Conarium, the adventure horror game inspired by H.P. Lovecraft’s novella At The Mountains of Madness, is getting a version for the Nintendo Switch. A new trailer for the Switch game was released as part of the ongoing Gamescom 2020.
Conarium first released for PC in 2017, and later on after a positive reception, it also released for consoles. The game was developed by Turkish game development studio Zoetrope Interactive, and follows the adventures of four scientists in the pursuit of their goal, to challenge what we consider to be the ‘absolute’ limits of nature.

In Conarium, the player takes control of scientist Frank Gilman, who wakes up alone at a research base located in Antarctica, Upuaut. There’s a strange device in the room and no trace of his fellow scientists; Gilman must then discover what happened to the others on the expedition (and what the device is) by navigating the Antarctic base and its surrounding areas, experiencing strange visions and dreams along the way. Players must solve the mystery of what happened by a combination of exploration and puzzle-solving, examining notes, journals, and other documents for clues.
While Conarium is joining the ranks of the many games that have gotten Switch ports over the years, it doesn’t have an exact release date quite yet. Prospective players will need to wait a little longer to get an idea of when they’ll be able to play the horror game on their Switch. For now, Conarium on the Nintendo Switch is simply “coming soon.”
Conarium is available now on PC, iOS, PS4, and Xbox One, with a Switch version to come.
