It’s been a rather eventful few days surrounding NBA 2K21, the latest entry in the long running basketball sim franchise. Specifically, the issue surrounding unskippable ads that popped up in the available current gen versions. Well, for a moment, let’s shift gears to the next gen releases coming next month. Earlier, we got some details on new PS5 features, specifically something called Activities. These are in-game tasks that can be tracked. It’s not super clear at this point how all games will use it, but at least we know how NBA 2K21 will.
On the official PlayStation blog, we get some details about the upcoming PS5 version of the game. When it comes to the Activities, it seems as if NBA will tie it closely to MyTeam. There will be unique challenges with these Activities, which they compare to Moments and Spotlight challenges. Completing these will net you rewards, and it even has a leaderboard within the Activities. The first challenge will be scoring 72 points against the 1996 Chicago Bulls, which…good luck there.
NBA 2K21 is available now for current generation systems and will launch alongside next generation consoles. You can even get a look at the PS5 version of the title thorough here.
