Multiple delays and a rather long development and marketing cycle have led to the hype surrounding Experiment 101 and THQ Nordic’s upcoming open world action RPG Biomutant being somewhat deflated, but recent developments have suggested that the game might finally be close to release. Most recently, THQ Nordic CEO Klemens Kreuzer suggested while speaking with GamesIndustry that the game would launch in Q1 of 2021, some time before April, but it seems that was wrong as well.
GamesIndustry recently took to Twitter to provide an update on the story, confirming that they have received clarification from THQ Nordic that the game is actually due out in the company’s next fiscal year, which begins on April 1 and ends on March 31, 2022. No specific launch date within that window is provided- which, of course, means that it’s possible the game’s launch slips into 2022 as well.
Whenever Biomutant releases, it will launch for PS4, Xbox One, and PC, and presumably with native versions for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S as well.
For the record: This article previously stated Biomutant is due for release in Q1 2021. THQ Nordic has reached out and clarified that the game is actually slated for its next financial year, which starts in April. https://t.co/43ETgXOhgC
