Yesterday, Microsoft and 343 Industries finally gave us our first look at the upcoming game in the iconic shooter series, Halo Infinite. We were shown an extended gameplay sequence (of which you can see in full through here), and some people maybe expected something a little different, but either way, what we saw was a chunk of the campaign. Eyebrows were raised earlier today when a rumor popped up that the game would not ship with a multiplayer competent. Well, rest easy, Halo fans, that doesn’t appear to be true.
343 Community Manager Brian Jarrad took to his official Twitter to reply to some people who posted about the rumors. He didn’t say much but said everything he needed to by explicitly stating it was “not true.”
While the rumor maybe was somewhat believable due to 343 saying they saw the game as a live service title, it seemed incredibly unlikely that a mainline Halo title would actually ship with no multiplayer at all, since that is one of the series keystones. Since it seems the multiplayer will stay intact, we most likely will get a more in-depth look at it before the game launches this Holiday season.
Nothing to see here folks, this is not true.
