Today Larian Studios released a new patch for the PS5 version of its super-popular RPG Baldur’s Gate 3 fixing a rather sneaky problem on the console.
Xbox players aren’t the only ones who had issues with save files, and the announcement on X (formerly Twitter) explains that those who got an Error 544 on PS5 may have invisible save files holding their storage hostage.
The new patch makes these save files visible, so now you can delete them.
Here’s what you have to do to remove the pesky files from your SSD.
- Update your game with the new patch
- Navigate to ‘Load Game’ on the game menu
- Review old saves that may have been invisible
- Delete these old saves
- Launch your main game save
Considering that Baldur’s Gate 3‘s save files aren’t exactly small, even more so if you’re in the latter part of the game, doing a cleanup certainly isn’t a bad idea, and the new patch will help.
Baldur’s Gate 3 is currently out for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. A physical Deluxe Edition will be released on all of these platforms in the first quarter of this year, but until then, you have to be content with digital downloads.
Since everyone has been raving about this complex RPG since its launch on PC, you can read our review to understand the reason why. I’ll spoil it just a bit and say that we awarded the game with an enthusiastic of 9.5 out of 10.
