In the world of NEO: The World Ends With You, Pins are the way that players of the Reaper's game can activate various abilities (or Psychs). Equipping these Pins allows you to access new powers to use in combat, with rarer Pins being more powerful.

One of the ways in which you acquire new Pins in this game is by having them drop from enemies in battle. Sometimes these Pins have a very low drop chance but luckily, there are multiple ways in which you can increase your drop multiplier.
How Drop Rate Works
You can view your current drop rate by opening up the Difficulty Menu (the Options button on the PS5, or the + button on the Nintendo Switch). By default your drop rate is x1. This drop rate is applied to the drop chances of the Pins that all enemies drop.
To illustrate this, the Dixiefrog drops a 100 Yen Pin at a 30 percent drop rate on Normal Difficulty. If you were to get a drop rate of x2, the 100 Yen Pin would drop 60 percent of the time every time you defeat a Dixiefrog. Improving your drop rate is key to getting some of the really powerful Pins, as they can have base drop chances as low as 0.04 percent.
Chaining Battles
Chaining multiple noise symbols together to fight a battle with lots of reductions will improve your drop rate significantly. Each symbol chained will add a full x1 multiplier to whatever your current drop rate is.
With the base drop rate of x1, chaining three symbols together, for example, will give you an effective drop rate of x3. However, if you have a drop rate of x4, chaining those same three symbols would give you an effective drop rate of x12. This is one of the best ways to easily boost your drop rate.

There are Social Network abilities that will let you make longer chains than usual, and these can be used to boost your drop rate to the grandest heights. These abilities are called Chain Extender and can be found on Kubo (unlocked on Week 2 Day 7), Tsukihime (Shop quest unlocked on Week 2 Day 2), and Seiji-of-Some-Trades (unlocked via a quest on Week 2 Day 5 at the Scramble Crossing).
Level Alteration
Early on in the game, you will unlock the ability to lower your level. This comes with a reduction in Max HP but will also increase your drop rate significantly, at a rate of x1 per level dropped.
There is, however, a Social Network ability that will make this feature even better for you. Plentiful Pins is attached to both Yoko Norimoto (unlocked via a quest on Week 1 Day 5 in Dogenzaka) and MKN (unlocked via a quest on Week 3 Day 4 at Tower Records Shibuya). This ability increases the drop rate bonus when you lower your level by .1 each.
With a maximum level of 100 and both Plentiful Pins abilities unlocked, you can achieve a drop rate of x119.8 without any other modifiers by reducing your level to one.
Thread Abilities
There are certain Thread abilities that will improve your drop rate as long as you meet the requirements to activate them. While some will just require a certain amount of Style, others will have to be equipped on a certain character in order to work their magic.
The table below contains every Thread that has an ability to improve your drop rate INCLUDING Threads worn by spoiler characters from Week 3 and the post-game. You can find out where to find these Threads in this guide.
