The Commodore 64 was first released way back in 1982. The PC-based video game console was very successful in various regions as both a video game console and a low-end PC. Many gamers grew up with the Commodore 64, so it should be exciting to learn that it is making a triumphant return.
A full-sized Commadore 64 is available for pre-order right now. Produced by Deep Silver, the C64 is being reissued, complete with upgrades for the twenty-first century.

Not to be confused with the C64 Mini that was announced last year, the new Commodore 64 is built to the same dimensions as the classic gaming PC. It will come pre-loaded with C64 and VIC-20 games, as well as a joystick. The old proprietary I/O ports are replaced with USB ports, which will allow players to load up games and programs with ease. It also comes with an HDMI port for a 720p display, which should result in the old games looking better than ever.
The Commodore 64 was also used for creating programs. In fact, there is an auto-shop in Poland run by Commadore 64 for over 25 years. This new reissue of the C64 will also include Commodore BASIC, so programs can again be created.
The idea of reissuing an old console is something that should perhaps be taken advantage of more often. Mini consoles like the SNES Mini have sold very well, with games already a part of the system in a smaller package. But sometimes it can be tricky to get one’s hands on the actual old video game consoles in good shape.
There are countless game cartridges that are available online or in mom and pop stores around the nation and world, it would be very neat if say Nintendo started reissuing the original NES, that is brand new and in perfect condition, so that players could play their old favorite games again on the OG console.
