While certainly not surprising given the meteoric rise of Nintendo Switch as one of the most popular gaming consoles on the planet, it’s nonetheless saddening to hear that the end has come for Super Mario Maker fans on Wii U. The end in regards to uploading new courses, that is. The popular feature will cease to be supported on the platform as of 03.31.21.

Here’s a full breakdown of what will be impacted:
Services that will end
- The ability to upload courses in the Wii U version of Super Mario Maker
- The Super Mario Maker Bookmark website
Due to this, the following features within the software’s Course World will also become unavailable:
- Updating the ranking of liked courses
- Looking up your bookmarked courses
An error message will be displayed when trying to access these discontinued services after their end date.
