Dreams Uncorporated and SYCK have announced that Cris Tales, their RPG inspired by the likes of Chrono Trigger and Valkyrie Profile, will be out in July. It will release for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS4, PS5, PC, Nintendo Switch and Google Stadia at $39.99. An overview trailer was also released, explaining the basic premise and gameplay.
The story focuses on Crisbell, a young girl who’s recently gained Time Mage powers. This allows her to view the past, present and future at once. Together with various allies, she embarks on a journey to defeat the Time Empress and ultimately rewrite the world’s future into something more positive.
Sporting gorgeous hand-drawn 2D visuals, Cris Tales offers branching storylines and decisions along with timing-based combat. One can also utilize their power over time to affect the present and gain an advantage in battle. A demo for the game is available now to try out – stay tuned for more details in the coming months.
