The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is a game for the ages. It’s not only considered the best Zelda game by many, but also ranks high on the list of best childhood games for a number of gamers. Hyrule’s wide open fields and intricate dungeons are fondly remembered by anyone who played it. But if you’re a speedrunner, there’s a chance that you remember it way more in detail than most.
Speedrunners often have to memorize game worlds to shave seconds off their runs. That’s how they manage to complete huge games in a matter of minutes. Just like how speedrunner Savestate managed to complete Ocarina of Time in four minutes and fifty one seconds. As impressive as that is on its own, Savestate managed this feat on the demo version of the game which was included in the Masterpieces feature of Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
Masterpieces were essentially short demos of games that were included with the Wii edition of Super Smash Bros. Brawl. These timed demos were included to let players try out some of Nintendo’s biggest games. The Ocarina of Time Masterpiece demo in particular had a time limit of only five minutes; the speedrunner’s video shows the demo ending just as the credits start rolling.

As pointed out by GameRant, the demo came with two pre-loaded save files of adult Link and young Link. According to Savestate, the adult Link save file contained all the necessary items to be able to pull off a warp glitch to the game’s credits.
Ocarina of Time still manages to make the news decades after its launch, primarily due to dedicated fans. One such fan project developed a mod that recreated the game’s lost Space World 1997 demo. Space World was an event held by Nintendo between 1989 and 2001. At the time, it was the company’s platform to show off new games and consoles.
Over the last few years though, Nintendo Direct has become the company’s platform to showcase new games and products. In its latest direct, we saw a trailer for Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, and learnt of two more Pokemon joining Pokemon Unite. This brings the total count of all Pokemon across all games to 900.
