DICE LA today announced it's changing its name to Ripple Effect Studios. The team will continue to work on a "player-inspired experience for Battlefield 2042," but also mentioned a second, yet-to-be-revealed game is in development.
Vince Zampella, founder of Respawn, will be responsible for managing the studio. Christian Grass will also take over as GM of Ripple Effect Studios, and said he couldn't be more grateful for his time as DICE LA – in fact, he says that DICE will always be part of Ripple Effect Studios' DNA.
“We’re so proud of our work as DICE LA and the DICE team will forever be a part of our DNA, but over the past eight years, we’ve developed our own culture and our own way of doing things,” Grass said. “We’re excited to look towards the future, expand the team and establish our own identity.”

Ripple Effect Studios will be getting a new campus in Los Angeles and is currently on a hiring spree. According to the announcement on EA's website, the team is currently "bringing in an influx of talented developers, artists, and engineers to make [its] vision a reality."
Work on Battlefield 2042 will continue, but the team is also hard at work on a second game – although details about the title are yet to be revealed.
