First Patch Available for Super Mario Bros. 35

Super Mario Bros. 35 has been out for over a week, and it has its first patch.

Version 1.0.1 of the game, released on October 8, addresses the following issues (per Nintendo’s official support page):

  • Fixed an issue where enemies would continue to appear within the current screen area without the player moving forward.
  • Fixed an issue where certain player icons were not displaying correctly in Coin Ranking.
  • Fixed other issues to enhance the overall gameplay experience.

What remains unclear is whether the patch also addresses reports of players hacking the game, which was ruining the experience for others. Hackers were topping the leaderboards with insane amounts of coins (some as high as 99,999), giving them an unfair advantage over their opponents.

If you’ve downloaded the update, have you noticed whether activity from hackers has slowed or stopped altogether? Have you noticed any other changes to gameplay?
