Major UK retailers should start getting deliveries of the PS5 within two weeks, as the stock situation slowly returns to normal.
At the beginning of the month the consensus was that none of the big retailers would get more stock of the PlayStation 5 until late January, and unfortunately that does seem to be correct.
There is light at the end of the tunnel though, as stock checker PS5 Stock UK is predicting that Argos will get a new delivery somewhere between January 25 and 28.
That should hopefully mean that other retailers will also begin to get new stock around the same time, although for some it may not be until February.
This is all as expected, since Sony put all the emphasis on getting as much stock as possible available for Christmas and so a lull afterwards was the inevitable consequence of that.
However, some smaller and non-traditional retailers have had PlayStation 5s for sale already this year, with BT and EE selling them only to their own customers.
Whenever they’ve turned up on other sites though it’s usually been as part of expensive bundles, although that shouldn’t be the case with Argos.

The stock situation with the PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X, will hopefully see a gradual improvement over the course of 2022, but it’s not expected to be anywhere near normal until at least 2023.
As a result, Sony recently confirmed that it would start manufacturing the PlayStation 4 again, to act as a lower price alternative and counterpart to the Xbox Series S – which is generally always in stock.
