Fortnite: How to Mark an Alien Parasite for Week 11 Challenge

Quick Links

Many Fortnite players are trudging away at Season 7, Week 11's Legendary and Epic quests. Not only do these provide an enjoyable escape from the typical Fortnite battle royale gameplay experience, but they also give gamers loads of XP towards unlocking Battle Stars for the battle pass. One of the quests this week involves players finding an Alien Parasite and then marking it, and fans can use this guide to get the challenge done fast and easily.

What Are Alien Parasites in Fortnite?

Alien Parasites were recently added to Fortnite Season 7 and can be found at various locations around the map. The alien parasites can infect both animals and humans and can give players some helpful mobility improvements. When a parasite is attached to a Fortnite player, they will lose some of their max health, but that negative will be traded for two positives: faster running speed and a higher jump. If a player wants to remove a parasite from their person, they just need to touch fire, get into a body of water, or another player can shoot it off a player's head.

How to Find Alien Parasites

As soon as players jump off of the Battle Bus, they should head to the Durr Burger restaurant landmark that's south of Holly Hatchery (formerly known as the popular point of interest, Holly Hedges). If players head inside the restaurant, they should spot a staircase behind the kitchen. Head downstairs and players should find some Alien Parasites flying around, or at least some Alien Eggs that haven't hatched yet.

How to Mark Alien Parasite in Fortnite

Once Fortnite players see one of the Alien Parasites, all they need to do is press the left button on the d-pad to mark it. If they're playing on a team, it'll alert other players of the parasite, but there is really no use in marking things if playing solo. At least players will earn XP once they mark just one Alien Parasite.

As for Fortnite players on PC that are not using a traditional console controller, they will need to go into the settings to see which key on the keyboard uses the item marking functionality.

Fortnite is currently free-to-play on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
