Arc System Works’ Guilty Gear Strive is out in April and the developer finally detailed what to expect in the offline modes. Arcade, Survival and Training modes are a given. However, one can also look forward to Tutorial and Versus along with the return of Mission mode.
Tutorial is interesting because it actually sees Sol Badguy and Ky Kiske bantering while providing instructions. Training mode offers more in-depth videos and details for combat along with recordings and also allows for saving any combos practiced.
Arcade is a standard series of matches with each character having their own story, though it can branch off depending on performance. Play better and even more story content opens up. Mission Mode offers hand-crafted missions that provide techniques to use in battles and provide Proficiency Points and presentations. Survival has the player surviving against a wave of CPU opponents, recovering a bit of health with each victory. Tougher opponents will show up at certain points though so be prepared.
Versus can be played either against the CPU or locally with another player. A graph will be showcased at the end of each battle, highlighting areas to improve in, which is nice. As for the Story and Gallery modes, more details will be revealed later.
Guilty Gear Strive is slated to release on April 9th for PS4, PS5 and PC, though console players can purchase the Deluxe and Ultimate editions for early access on April 6th.
